The Law Office of Wendy L. Hackler - Mansfield

Call 817-842-2336 for all of your family law needs in Fort Worth. Family law issues affect the entire family. Let an experienced attorney help you! I began my legal career representing foster parents who chose to adopt their foster children. After a few years, I began working for the Attorney General of Texas, where I became quite proficient in both Texas and interstate child support issues. After 3 years there, I opened my firm, focusing on family law. It is my goal to vigorously represent my clients in a moral and ethical manner while guiding them through the process.

Although family law cases are frequently resolved through mediation, I do relish the opportunity to appear in the courtroom, should that opportunity arise. In addition to representing individuals regarding child support, paternity, custody, divorce and adoptions, I have expanded my practice to include grandparent rights, cps cases, guardianships, and probate.

Currently, I have one paralegal working in my office, who works to maintain frequent contact with our clients and to keep me up to date on all developments in our clients’ cases. With him focusing on the office and insuring it runs efficiently, I can focus my efforts on the courtroom and trial preparation. This teamwork approach enables us to efficiently represent our clients while keeping client costs as low as possible.

We are a small office and enjoy giving our clients a more personal touch. Now that you know a little more about us, we hope to have the opportunity to get to know you as well. You may reach our Fort Worth office at (817) 842-2336 to schedule a consultation.

Additional Information

When getting married for the first time, thinking of divorce may seem ridiculous. As such, many newlyweds rarely consider something like a prenuptial agreement at that time. On the other hand, those that have been divorced before, and those who understand the financial complexities regarding assets and property in a divorce proceeding, will often place much higher value on the benefits of a prenuptial agreement.

In general, prenuptial agreements are contracts that make clear definitions of property (land, buildings, automobiles, retirement accounts, etc.) in the marriage. Following a divorce, a prenuptial agreement can make the entire divorce proceedings significantly time- and cost-effective.

There is no waiting period for an adoption. Thus, we can usually complete them within six months. In most cases the child will need to come to court for the adoption. You are free to bring any friends or family you would like and pictures are encouraged. It is a happy day that I often refer to as the child’s “second birthday”. If you are considering adopting a child and would like to know more about Texas’ adoption laws, please contact our office.

Product and Services

Divorce is difficult for everyone involved; the parties, children, family and friends. Therefore, we recommend that if you can stay together and make your marriage work, you should. However, there are times when divorce is necessary. Should you find yourself needing a divorce, we are here to help you through the process in an ethical manner while insuring that you understand your rights and options.

Paternity is often a highly emotional issue among families in the Mansfield-Fort Worth area, as well as throughout Texas. In addition to the legal weight of paternity issues, fathers and mothers in these cases are often dealing with the poignant subject of establishing the father’s rights over the child. Whether you’re an assumed father being sued for paternity, a mother seeking to establish paternity for your child, or you do want to enact your paternal rights as a father, the legality of these issues are governed by the Texas Family Code, Chapter 160.

Estate planning has to do with planning for a person’s aging and ultimate death. Typically, this involves the preparation of documents such as Powers of Attorneys, Wills, Health Care Directives and other documents that assist in protecting people and their estates as they enter the final years of their lives.

At the Law Office of Wendy L. Hackler, we have partnered with other professionals such as CPAs and/or financial planners to ensure that we make the best possible plan for our clients.

Comprehensive estate planning means that you must plan for the worst and hope for the best. Often, when these documents are needed, time is of the essence. Do your family a favor and make your desires clear. Have your estate planning documents drafted. I assure you, your loved ones will appreciate your forethought in preparing these documents.
